Xi´an: Tomb digging gives way to preservation CCTV News – CNTV English

Over the past two days, 12 funerary items have been found inside the ancient tomb in Xi’an, capital of northwest China’s Shaanxi province that dates back some two-thousand years, including what’s described as a lacquer chest, and bamboo food containers. Now the experts are considering some adjustment to their original excavation plan.

Since Sunday morning, staff have began to spray preservative on the lacquer items every three hours.

In the tomb, archeologists are drawing sketches of the tomb passages.
